I live with Cyclothymia and trauma-induced Borderline Personality Disorder. Diagnosed at the age of thirty-eight, I have spent every day since learning what it means to endure, adapt, and keep moving forward. Some days the battle is small, finding the strength to wash, to leave the house, or simply to face the morning. Other days it is a struggle to remain alive. My hands are not clean of tears, neither my own nor those shed by people I have hurt along the way. Mental illness leaves scars on everyone it touches, and I make no claim to be a hero in this tale. I am simply a man trying to understand himself. There is no finish line to this journey. No moment when the work is complete and the darkness is permanently banished. There is only the road ahead, taken one step at a time. My hope is that somewhere along that road I will discover a kinder, wiser, and better version of the man I once was.If these words help even one person feel less alone, then sharing them will have been worth it.This is my story...* MY BLOG
